Uniting Country SA (UCSA) is identified in legislation as an Australian Privacy Principle (APP) entity, is bound by the Privacy Act and adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to the collection and storage of personal information. Protecting your privacy is very important to us. When UCSA holds personal information about an individual, we will use this information for the primary purpose for which it was collected. The information below sets out UCSA’s terms of service in relation to our recruitment processes.
Types of Personal Information Collected.
The recruitment-related personal information that we collect about you may include; your name, email address, location, phone number, qualifications, employment history, interests, types of roles you are interested in, your work application form and resume or CV.
Some types of personal information are considered to be more private than others (which includes information about someone’s racial or ethnic origin, health or medical conditions). This type of information is called “sensitive personal information” and responses are voluntary.
If you progress through the interview process, we may also collect interview notes, references, results of any psychological assessments and background checks (including employment screenings), your work visa and other information to verify your identity and right to work.
Storage and Protection of Personal Information.
We take steps to ensure that your personal information is kept secure and protected against unauthorised access or use. We will keep personal information for no longer than is necessary for the purposes described in this document or as otherwise required by law.
If your application is unsuccessful, we may retain your personal information for twelve (12) months for the purposes of considering you for other roles within UCSA. We are under no obligation to retain your personal information for this purpose and may elect to delete your personal information at any time following an unsuccessful application.
You may request that we delete your personal information from our database at any time. You can do this by managing your profile on our job vacancy website or by emailing us at vacancies@ucsa.org.au.
We will not deactivate your account on our job vacancy website, unless you request that we do so. You will be able to log in to the website and apply for other roles.
If your account is inactive for twelve (12) months, your account will be automatically disabled. Following deactivation, all of your account information will be destroyed or erased from our systems in accordance with our standard information retention and destruction policies.
Your Rights.
It is important to us that all of the information we hold about you is correct and up-to-date, you can update your personal information via your profile on our job vacancy website.
